Criteria In Employee Retention Credit for Dentists - Some Thoughts

This suspension may be caused by directives from an approved governmental entity. It can also be due if their gross receipts are down, as described further below. Dentists can receive relief from the Employee Retention Tax Credit and potential full forgiveness of their Paycheck Protection Program loans based on new rules published by the IRS. For a second round PPP loans, you must have experienced at least a twenty-five% reduction in revenues in any calendar period. A dental practice must have a 50% decrease in gross receipts in any quarter of 2020 to be eligible for the Employee Retention Credit. A practice could also be eligible if they experienced a partial or complete government shutdown (the Wisconsin Dental Association's recommendation doesn't qualify for this observed shutdown). Owners of dental practices may find it difficult keeping up to date with all the information and guidelines that are available through government stimulus programs.
